DYS Club Values
2025–2026 DYS Volleyball Club Program
Dulles Youth Sports (DYS) Volleyball Club is our most competitive program. It is intended for experienced players who want to be challenged regularly.
How We’re Different
At DYS, our strength is built on our people. Our coaches are experienced at both the high school and club levels, and unlike most clubs, they volunteer their time because they love the game and want to invest in local athletes. We currently have head and assistant coaches from Freedom, Park View, and PVI — coaches who bring proven success and deep experience in both environments.
This model allows us to keep costs down while raising the standard of training. Families aren’t paying for inflated overhead; they’re investing directly in their players’ development. The result is a program that consistently produces competitive teams and, more importantly, confident athletes who thrive in a culture built on gratitude, teamwork, and growth.
Our Co-Op Model
We operate as a co-op, keeping overhead low and player fees affordable. Each season, we develop a pro forma and divide costs by the number of participants.
-
2026 Season Fee: $2,750
-
Includes: 3 personalized jerseys, 2 pairs of spandex, 3 practice shirts, facility costs, and all tournament entry fees
-
Excludes: travel and hotel costs
-
Fundraising offsets additional expenses, allowing us to deliver one of the best values for club volleyball in the region.
Volunteer Roles
Our success depends on families pitching in both on and off the court. Because of our co-op structure, every family contributes to making the program work.
-
Team-Level Roles
-
Treasurer
-
Social Coordinator
-
Communications
-
Travel Coordinator

-
Club & DYS Volleyball Board-Level Roles
-

-

-
These roles are essential to keeping DYS strong. Many families find that taking part in the club’s operations deepens their connections and enhances their overall experience.
What We Value in Players & Families
We are looking for:
-
Players who are good teammates, eager to work hard, and hungry to grow as volleyball players.
-
Parents who support their players, their teammates, and the club with encouragement, kindness, and participation.
Our Mantra
“Grateful for Everything, Entitled to Nothing.”
This mindset defines our culture. Our coaches model gratitude, and we expect our players to adopt it as teammates and competitors.
Growth Mindset
We believe players must learn to fail in order to succeed. At DYS, athletes are encouraged to:
-
Take risks and make aggressive mistakes
-
Embrace challenges and discomfort for the sake of growth
-
Work hard for their teammates
Hard work and resilience forge strong teams and strong individuals.
The Players’ Creed
Our Practice shirts carry our creed, which reflects the values of DYS Volleyball:
-
Stay Humble
-
Hone Your Craft
-
Express Gratitude
-
Put The Team First
-
Give Your Best Effort
-
Find Joy in the Journey
This is our culture. This is DYS Volleyball.
